THE MEDITATION EFFECT -- Deflating Terrorism At Its Roots
By Rich Buckley -- On behalf of Peace And Conflict Resolution.Org

(9-21-2013) Richard? Richard! Richard !!!! ....... Yes, God?.... Post this on Facebook. Oh Jesus! Do I have too? Richard... Don't make me come down there! But no one believes this stuff God. Listen Richard, that's the whole point, 3 souls meditating positively in a group of 90,000 changes the outcome positively for the 90,000. Now post it!

Can group meditation bring World Peace? Quantum Physicist, John Hagelin explains. And then TM.

Maybe listen to Tom Kenyon Sound Healer,  as you ponder the below.... Or this experimental piece by Stanford Students

I was surprised and impressed some years ago to discover what is being referred to as "The Meditation Effect" :

http://divinecosmos.com/start-here/davids-blog/1123-boston

My research indicates that the western, "modern-era", scientific realization all started several decades ago in a college physics class student project. None of the physic's department heads would sponsor the research because it was a taboo subject of mind over matter: Does what we think control what we experience?

Well you're thinking of course, dah??? !... Rich, of course it does! What's your point?

But that's not the point I'm making. Take it down to the level of magic...the kind you see on tv shows. Now you're entering the metaphysical realm.

Today, a growing number of reputable physicists are acknowledging there exists a correlation of significance. The metaphysical then slowly evolves into the accepted reality of mainstream as more and more physicists agree. The rate of change of opinions tend to form a statistical hyperbolic curve. We are somewhere along that curve, (not sure where) when pretty soon mainstream physicists will mostly say something like, "Well yes, everybody knows that's true."

The original taboo experiment was cheap to do, so the student winged it, and said to heck with a sponsorship, I'll produce the evidence, the crowd (of sponsors) will come.... build it and they will come. He did and he was right.

It was a simple experiment. It looked like a Pachinco game boad:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pachinko
A bunch of balls where dropped across pegs for many trial runs (many thousands of runs) unobserved ball drops to produce the board's random distribution of balls into the bottom slots. As expected the random distribution formed reliable patterns.... unobserved. Run the experiment, record the outcome. Repeat it tens of thousand of runs and like proving out the statistical performance bias of a Roulette table before allowing customers to use it in the casino, you have a reliable index on how the table will perform during normal operations and normal controls.

Then the student placed a huge number of volunteer students, one by one in front of the game board and instructed each volunteer student to focus mentally on the making the balls fall to the right. Then repeated the experiment by focusing mentally on having the balls fall to the left. Really a simple experiment, even I could run it.

The head of the physics department did not believe the statistical results. He insisted on taking over the experiment after agreeing that if statistical results were true, this alters the understanding of our dimensional, scientific concept of reality. Suffice to say, it was all redone, this time with the head of the physics department now monitoring the student to make sure the experiment had appropriate controls, no magnets in or near the game boards, no electromagnetic fields artificially placed near the boards,... everything you'd do if you where running the experiment. The results of the simple experiment were so profoundly convincing statistically that the head of the physics department of the university is reported to have set up a private outside research corporation and quit (my guess is he was fired, but I digress) his well paying, tenured post to further the research. That's how the story goes.

Since then, a new octave of understanding has emerged in the West all tied back to this simple little taboo physics experiment. What we think we have discovered is that group consciousness focused on a single outcome, produces that outcome. Whoa!

Experimentation has refined the numbers further. The size of the group needs to only be 1% of the square root of the total number in the group. 1% of the population of Earth is about 70o. I like to say 800 but the purists use 700. Then for good measure they multiply that by 10.

And that's where the number 7000 comes into discussion by the likes of David Wilcock of Divine Cosmos in his statement below of real research called THE MEDITATION EFFECT:

"THE MEDITATION EFFECT "In this 25-minute show, which only ended a half-hour ago as I write this sentence, I described how 50 different scientific studies have confirmed the Meditation Effect is real.

"7000 people get together and meditate -- and global terrorism goes down by 72 percent. "Similarly dramatic decreases were seen in war, fatalities and violent crime.

"Even if skeptics want to argue about whether or not this is "real," the fact is that all other variables have been ruled out -- including weekends, weather, holidays, et cetera.

"This effect has been documented in numerous peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of Offender Rehabilitation."

David's life was changed some decades ago after reading about 600 books on spirituality, he stumbled upon the "Law Of One" research. Just Google it for free downloads of eBooks on some other metaphysical researchers in the late 70's early 80's.

"The Law of One" Books 1 through 5, by Researchers James Allen McCarty, Don Elkins and Carla Ruekert. This is a link to their site where they offer pdf downloads, here:

Now here's the wow-factor! "The Meditation Effect" means that 3 people in a community of 90,000, can produce a positive outcome in service-to-others though small group meditation on peace, love, compassion, and tolerance. Notice the process is only reported to work in one direction: the positive direction in service-to-others. Care to go for a trial run?

Population.........Min. Group Size
90,000 ...................... 3 My Town's Size
250,000 .................... 5
500,000 .................... 8
1,000,000................. 10
10,000,000............... 32
100,000,000............ 100
8,000,000,000.........894 Earth's Population +-

Many constructive notions come to mind. I am a complete novice at this. The meditative approach I apply currently is to visualize like a method-actor a thought that brings forth a feeling of compassion, love, sympathy, caring, or forgiveness  Then I view an open loop of white positive energy and feeling, flowing out of me and through everyone, every place and every thing I know and recall in this life. Hold that for a moment in peace. Allow it to mentally flow out from you: love, compassion, forgiveness  joy, tempered with wisdom, all flowing outward and through and into this loop-circuit of white flowing energy. It goes where it needs to go. Relax with the moment and the feeling. Then I momentarily visualize quantum coherence, a wonderful scientifically based discovery of how plant life works, in the notion we are all evolved plants after all. If it works with plants there's probably vestiges working still in humans. I visualize what Deputy Director, Graham Fleming of Berkeley Lab, a professor of chemistry at UC Berkeley, and an internationally acclaimed leader in spectroscopic studies of the photosynthetic process found: a quantum mechanical 600-picosecond burst of quantum coherence in which everything in the living plant organism participates in the free flow of energy. I found his work personally stimulating. He discovered, measured and verified that all avenues and all pathways in the living organism momentarily communicate with each other with no loss of energy, a state of quantum-mechanical coherence ... the vibratory sub-atomic energy of the atoms somehow pumping data throughout the plant organism checking all possible routes to send the photon's field energy in the sub-quantum operating level without loss or measurable energy expense for the investigation or wrong pathways in the plant. My sense is this quantum mechanical 600-picosecond moment of free energy is the plant organism's merger (and thus my own) with Infinite Intelligence. In this special feeling moment, all of which happens so quickly it's below the threshold of reason; the out going energies enter you into quantum coherence with every one, every thing, all space/time and time/space. It's like harmonics, .... energy in our self-made loop is increased in resonate amplitude. In other words it opens the gate to energy from another dimension ... I like to think, perhaps as Gregg Bradon in the below YouTube, it's connected with magnetic fields of the heart. What you give out comes right back super powered to the organism of Earth. The energy I send is received back increased many times over as other entities awaken and add their love, peace, compassion, forgiveness and wisdom to the loop until everything blooms into a white glowing state of love, peace, and oneness....our unique galactic intelligent energy (logos) we feel and call love. It all happens because you enabled yourself and allowed yourself to feel the moment like a method actor speaking their lines while bringing forth real tears....because you feel it. You are in the moment with your feelings and it apparently greatly matters. This is what the Meditative Effect research all seems to point to with significant correlation. The coherence between our mind and heart, the feelings of love, compassion, caring, forgiveness  reaches out far beyond what we perceive as "self" and apparently enables or infuses others to enter the same state of being.

"The sweetness and light types (I'm in the group John Kettler calls the "sweetness and light types" or try to be) are going to find themselves most unhappy, for Earth's transition to the 4th Dimension is reportedly (via a Ground Contingent who later joined the intuitive/telepathic discussion) going to be rough and messy. The best course, though, is to relax and stay centered."

If reference to 4th Dimension is new to you, it's explain pretty well here.

I find them helpful. The object is to learn the transformative routine until the imagery of each step flows automatically at which time you probably no longer need to listen to the videos. Just do it.

Proof for the Power of Prayer?

The New Testament tells us in James 5:16 that “the prayer of the righteous is effective and powerful” (New Revised Standard Version). Scientists may have actually found concrete evidence that this is true.

One of the emerging new treatments for depression, anxiety, and stress-related illnesses is a therapy called mindfulness meditation. Although clinicians have developed it from ancient Buddhist meditational practices, there seems to be a Christian counterpart as well. The technique is found in prayer as practiced by Christian monks of the Sixth Century A.D. onward. Praying in this way has been shown to actually “rewire” key circuits in the brains of practitioners. This rewiring results in demonstrated changes in the way the pray-er responds to life. In particular, people who habitually pray in this way have been found to be protected from the effects of stress. They are less depressed, less anxious, report higher levels of satisfaction with life, and better health. This is true even when other factors, such as differences in social support and personality characteristics, are accounted for.

Although there is some evidence that any kind of prayer can contribute to such effects, the type of prayer that is most powerful possesses certain characteristics. First, it engages the practitioner in the “present moment.” People who pray in this way learn to become aware of thoughts, feelings, and memories that arise. But rather than dwelling on these inner sensations, the pray-er simply learns to release each one from consciousness as it occurs. Father Thomas Keating, a Roman Catholic priest, is the developer of a contemporary Christian prayer technique known as centering prayer. He likens the pray-er to a scuba diver who is sitting on a rock at the bottom of a deep river. Each of the thoughts and sensations that pass through the pray-er’s mind is like a boat crossing above the diver on the surface of the river. The diver simply notes the crossing of the boat. Then she returns to meditating on the fact that God is surrounding her with grace in that present moment, just as the water engulfs a submerged scuba diver.

Another characteristic of this form of prayer is that the pray-er learns to disengage his mind in order to focus on the presence of God. Some people have referred to this type of prayer as a training of one’s attention. The practitioner learns to let go of the constant stream of thoughts that crowd our consciousness. Practitioners of mindfulness meditation do this by learning to concentrate on the act of breathing. Each time they find their mind wandering, they simply, and gently, return to concentrating on the act of breathing. Thomas Keating suggests that the difference between Christian prayer and the clinical practice of mindfulness meditation is the difference between the training of one’s attention and the training of one’s intention. The Christian does not teach himself to concentrate on his breathing so much as he learns to concentrate on waiting on the presence of God. In essence, this type of prayer becomes not so much a prayer of supplication. In other words, it is not so much about asking God for things. Instead, it is about listening to what God wants to say to us. It is simply learning to be silent in the presence of God.

Scientific research suggests that the ability of this type of prayer to rewire the brain of its practitioners is directly related to the amount of time spent in this type of prayer. In other words, like physical exercise, the more one practices it, the more one enjoys the benefits of it. Thomas Keating suggests setting aside a period of 20 uninterrupted minutes once or twice per day. Therapists who employ mindfulness meditation say that 20 to 30 uninterrupted minutes once per day are enough. But, either way, the message is clear. The extent to which we place ourselves in God’s presence is the extent to which we reap the concrete benefits. Admittedly, my own experience is anecdotal at best. But I have found that, by practicing this type of prayer once daily, my level of contentment and joy increases markedly. So does my experience of the presence of God in my everyday affairs. I find this to be enough to keep me returning daily to this practice of meditational prayer.

The power of prayer to change other people may yet be a matter of scientific debate. But the power of prayer to change the one who prays seems to be increasingly well established. I encourage you to join me in practicing the type of prayer that avails much (James 5:16, New King James Version).
